General Summary
The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in the field of interior design, allowing candidates to develop skills and contribute to real-world projects. The ideal candidate is passionate about design, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a collaborative and creative environment. The Interior Design Intern, with overall supervision from the Director of Design and day-to-day supervision from the Project Manager and/or Project Designer, assists in executing office and project-related design and technical tasks of simple to moderate complexity with a particular focus on interior design.

Essential Job Functions
- Assist in curation and maintenance of the material library. Including but not limited to contact with vendors for material updates, sample replacement, and organizing and filing of samples.
- Assist in the creation of mood boards, color schemes, and materials palettes for projects.
- Support project teams through sample procurement, preparation of sample binders, and project archiving.
- Support the team in the selection of furniture systems and ancillary furnishings and accessories.
- Conduct research on design trends, materials, and products to enhance project innovation.
- Assist in developing space planning concepts and generating program documents under the guidance of the Project Manager and/or Project Designer.
- Possess/demonstrate communication skills to work with all assigned project team members and motivated to engage and ask questions.
- Assist in preparing presentations, conceptual drawings, sketches and/or 3d images/renderings based on the candidate's proficiency, skill, and knowledge of design and design tools.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in interior design.
- Perform related interior design duties as assigned.
Employment Qualifications:
- Currently a student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture or Interior Design. Students should have completed at least (2) years of classes.
- Familiarity with design programs such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, SketchUp/Enscape, Twin Motion is helpful, but not required.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) is helpful, but not required.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and take initiative on individual tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
