What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping, Receiving/ Parts Driver position at Ghent Motor Company?
Purpose of Position:
Distributes ships, receives, and inventories vehicle parts under direct supervision and delivery to other companies.
Responsibilities:
- Distributes parts/supplies at counter and posts parts into inventory
- Assists in shipping and receiving by unpacking/packing boxes; stocks parts on shelves
- Unloads trucks and signs for shipments; inspects for damage and returns if necessary
- Conducts physical count of parts/supplies for cycle inventory
- Advises Manager of Parts out of stock and low stocking problems based on inventory system data or visual inspection
- Maintains a clean and safe work area
- General janitorial duties / parts department
- Delivery of parts to various locations
- Ensures safe and on-time delivery of parts to the dealership using company vehicles and following all company procedures and standards
- Pulling and stocking parts
- Completes any reports or logs
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles and performs routine maintenance tasks
- Ability to load truck with parts going out for delivery
- Complies with and enforces all safety policies and procedures
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Clean driving record
- Dealership experience is a plus
Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:
- Valid drivers license required
Experience:
- 2 years or more of counter or stockroom experience in an automotive or trucking environment (preferred but not a determination factor)
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions
- General computer database knowledge
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Basic inventory, math, and communication skills
- Strong attention to details
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- This is a full Time position Monday-Friday.
