We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Survey Technician to work with, and grow into, a Party Chief. GHIs Surveyors work in a fast paced and challenging environment with our Clients and design engineers to deliver Services and Projects that enhance our environment and elevate our community.
Job Description:
As a Survey Technician, you will work closely with our Professional Land Surveyors, design staff, Professional Engineers, and project managers to research, survey, and prepare plans for Clients and land development consulting. You will play a key role in surveying Project Sites and drafting plans for a variety of projects including Construction Stakeout, Boundary Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Topographic Surveys, UAV Aerial Mapping, and more.
Duties:
- Collaborate with and assist the survey department by conducting records research, plotting deeds, and preparing for field surveys
- Perform fieldwork such as boundary surveys to locate and document property corners and other forms of boundary evidence, topographic surveys to document existing site features and topography, and construction stakeout surveys to layout proposed improvements.
- Operate and maintain survey equipment, including GPS receivers, total stations, and UAVs.
- Prepare field notes, sketches, and documentation for survey reports.
- CAD drafting to prepare Existing Features Plans from data collected during the site visits for and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Surveying, or a related field is a plus.
- Proficient with survey equipment and software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
