What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at GHJ?

We have partnered with a stable and growing Manufacturing company to help identify their next Controller.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll functions.
- Manage and coordinate month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
- Implement internal controls and SOP’s, (AP and Cash Sales) includes training of personnel.
- Compliance and timely external reporting requirements (SOS, 1099 tax reporting, etc.)
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads and senior management to develop accurate financial projections.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
