Position Summary:
Put your maintenance and repair skills to good use at as an Onsite Service Technician I focused Instrument, Fire, and Respiratory services in the Safety Services group! In this position, you will perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on safety equipment for established customers on a scheduled basis.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting service calls.
- Identifying equipment discrepancies.
- Supplied air system maintenance and upkeep
- Cleaning, maintenance, calibration, and distribution of gas monitoring equipment
- Cleaning, maintenance, and distribution of PPE
- Preparing accurate and timely Technician Worksheets (TWS) and reports.
- Providing customer service in the area of Inspecting, Testing, Maintenance and Repairs of Life Safety Equipment. Including, but not limited to: Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose, Gas Detection Monitors, Respiratory Equipment, Fall Protection Equipment and Safety Shower / Eyewash Units.
- Responsible for providing the testing and repair documentation and ensuring it is filled out accurately, completely and turned in for proper invoicing.
- Responsible for ensuring the customer has all required copies of all required documentation upon servicing equipment.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory standards pertaining to assigned duties, i.e., State, OSHA, and NFPA regulations, NFPA Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Always exhibit safe work practices.
- Assist in shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders & distributing to sales associates for processing.
- May include the use of company provided assets such as but not limited to: Company Vehicle, Inventory, Safety Equipment, Laptop, BR Scanner, Test Equipment, Tools, Radio, Cell Phone, Fuel Card and/or Credit Card.
- Associates are required to maintain proper care of all assets as defined by policies.
Job Qualifications:
- High School or GED
- Minimum 1-year related experience
- Mechanically inclined
- Specific -- RELEVENT experience
- Experience in the Inspection, Testing, Maintenance and Repair of Safety Equipment.
- Ability to repair and service equipment sold by North America.
- Current Motor Vehicle License with good driving record.
- Proficient with hand tools.
- Able to complete repairs and maintenance of equipment in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist warehouse personnel with order fulfillment if needed.
- Maintain minimum productivity of 80% within 60 days.
- Keep all certifications and licenses current and renewed by completing continuing education as required.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process and quality instructions).

- Occasional lifting of items weighting a maximum of 55 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairwells up to 15 levels high.

- Able to walk at a normal pace for up to 15 continuous minutes.
- Able to work from a standing position for 8-10 hours.
- Bending, climbing, and stooping as needed for access of equipment to repair and service.
- Pass all test requirements to be approved to work offshore. (If Applicable)
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities.
- Work may be in a manufacturing environment and could have exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc.
- Safety protection may be required while in the customer's facility (hand, foot, and eye or other as dictated by the customer's safety protocols).
- Overtime hours may be required with little advanced notice.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and may require the ability to distinguish color.
