What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center?
This position’s primary responsibility is to serve as the face of Ghost Ranch’s headquarters coffee shop. Our ideal candidate is friendly, kind, self-motivated, and energetic. While related professional experience is preferred but not required, these personal qualities are imperative for success.
Necessary qualifications:
- Previous food and beverage service industry experience preferred.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to walk on rough terrain, climb steps, stand, twist, bend, kneel, crouch daily.
- Reliable transportation for regularly scheduled shifts.
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Provide warm, friendly, and efficient customer service
- Prepare espresso drinks and other specialty drinks on the menu and snack and pastry orders
- Complete customer transactions
- Open, close and set up coffee shop area
- Operate, clean and maintain beverage and food preparation and service equipment
- Take out garbage as needed throughout shift and at end of shift
- Monitor cleanliness of coffeeshop space and restrooms, sweep and wipe down surfaces at end of shift
- Fill deli case with food items
- Set out signage and menus
- Assist with food prep as needed
- Take product inventory
- Keep back of house area clean, neat, and well-organized
- Other responsibilities as potentially assigned by the position’s supervisors

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The person in this position reports to the Dining Services Manager and Director of Hospitality.
TERMS:
The Barista position is hourly with tips, and non-exempt from overtime; weekends, holidays and overtime may be required as needed. We are hiring for multiple part-time positions, with schedules of up to 28 hours per week.
