What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Associate position at Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center?
This position’s primary responsibility is to maintain a clean, comfortable, and tidy environment by caring for overnight accommodations, function spaces, and public buildings, including offices, washrooms, and utility spaces. This role is vital to ensuring the overall quality of our guests' experience across our property.
- Valid New Mexico driver’s license, three years of driving history, and a clean driving record.
- Capable of lifting 25 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk on rough terrain, climb steps, stand, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, push and pull daily.
- Reliable transportation for regularly scheduled shifts.
- Previous housekeeping or maintenance experience (preferred).
RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Cleaning and ensuring high standards for Ghost Ranch
- Clean, sweep, mop and disinfect guest rooms, meeting rooms, public facilities, and office spaces as scheduled.
- Prepare guest rooms thoroughly and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
- Make beds and provide fresh bath linens and amenities.
- Assist in the cleaning and preparation of meeting room facilities for guest and staff use.
- Communicate needed repairs of facilities to Housekeeping Supervisor
- Follow required procedures for handling chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Assist with laundry duties and preparation of laundered linens for use in guest rooms.
- Ensure that the housekeeping work area and Ghost Ranch vehicles are clean, tidy, and organized.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Director of Hospitality.

ACCOUNTABILITY:
The person in this position reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
TERMS:
Housekeeping Associate is a non-exempt (hourly) position starting at $18/hour. This requires weekends, holidays or overtime as needed. We will consider part-time applicants, but are presently prioritizing applicants interested in full-time positions, which requires a schedule of 32 to 40 hours per week.
