Phlebotomist

Ghost RX is hiring for Phlebotomist to work at the VA Clinic in Silverdale WA.

Contract Length:

• 1 year, short term contracts available
• Possibility of being hired permanently to the VA.

Work Hours:.

• 8 hour shift
• Monday - Friday
• Day Shift: 7:30am- 4:00pm

Required:

• 1 year of Experience
• BLS
• Phlebotomy Certificate/License

Job Expectations:

- Performs venipuncture collection of patient blood samples to process for appropriate testing.

- Always adheres to safety, infection control, and universal precautions while drawing blood, following proper procedures.

- Instructs patients in proper Sterile midstream urine collection, 24-hour urine collection and collection of specimens for culture and sensitivity, ova and parasites, and occult bloods.

- Processes all specimens according to College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines to assure specimen integrity.

- Requires knowledge of a large variety of laboratory tests, services, and nomenclature including specialized procedures for outside references laboratories.

- Receives all samples for testing into the laboratory. Verifies sample collection, patient identification and sample transport requirements for all laboratory tests.

- Performs maintenance and operation of pre-automation instrumentation to process incoming specimens along with preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and eyewash stations.

Pay: $22.00 per hour
