What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Ghostlight Coffee?
Ghostlight Coffee in Dayton, OH is looking for one additional full time cook to join our 26 person strong team. We are located on 1201 Wayne Ave. and 800 South Patterson Blvd. Our bakery is located off-site, but near our Wayne Ave. location. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and hard-working.
Responsibilities
- Open &/or Close kitchen daily at the new Ghostlight Midtown location
- Prep ingredients and recipes for Breakfast & Lunch service
- Prep and manage Grab & Go items and display (salads, sides, yogurts, desserts, etc.)
- Run Breakfast &/or Lunch service
- Deliver food to customers or hand off to food runner
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Dishwashing
- Follow health and safety guidelines
- Maintain the culture of Ghostlight Coffee as requested by management
- Prepare and maintain inventory
- Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
- Have knowledge of, and ability to adhere to strict food handling safety standards
- Be aware of food allergens, and always follow procedures to ensure no cross-contamination occurs
- Prepare recipes as decided by the Chef/Kitchen Manager
Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a baker, cook or other kitchen position
- Demonstrable knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety issues and customer service skills
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
- High integrity with a great attendance record
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively
- Attention to detail in all aspects of cooking, plating and service
- Creative thinker when it comes to flavors
- Must be fluent in GIF communication
- Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
- Experience as a Baker or Cook a plus
- Weekend shifts mandatory
