What's The Job?
GHSP, headquartered in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. Reporting to the Plant Manager, GHSP is currently looking for a Launch Manager to join our Operations Leadership team in Grand Haven.
What You'll Do
Design for Test / Design for Manufacture Ensure engineering projects and new products are designed utilizing DFT and DFM, including robust test designs, design for manufacturing; ease of assembly, Ergo and automation. Ensure the product is tested and capable to meet all customer specifications and requirements.
Facility Management Aligns processing equipment with customer expectations, plant objectives and constraints.
Lead Launch Team Provide leadership to the launch team by ensuring all ECO / MCO, EC's, PR's builds, MRR's, Program timing, customer milestones, phase gates, PPAP, lessons learned and APQP process are successful. Works with the plant leadership to ensure correct staffing levels and budgets are met.
ISO14001 / Environmental Management Provide processes that are environmental responsible and the team supports the ISO14001 objectives when bringing in processes.
Project Management Managing each stage of a project to ensure that commitments are met in a manner that meets all stakeholder expectations. Clearly defining roles and responsibilities, determining necessary resources, and monitoring project performance through appropriate systems and metrics. Use of tools; Gantt charts, open Issues List, and setting and following a Meeting Agenda.
Budgeting Overseeing the Program Capital budgets for the manufacturing location and ensures Capital AR's and projects are completed in a timely manner. Ensure Capital Budget reflects new Programs (from 5 year plan) for fulfillment location.
Material Readiness Review Provide leadership to ensure the MRR process is robust and completed in a timely manner for a successful launch or change of manufactured components and final assemblies.
Production Processes and Equipment Ensures equipment reliability for a robust and capable process entering the facility. Ensures the launch teams technical resource support of the plant's teams are trained and well-versed in the processes being brought to the manufacturing location. Ensure appropriate use of APQP tools and techniques (i.e. FMEA, DOE, Effective Root Cause Analysis, Error Proofing, and Lean Manufacturing, industry benchmarking and associated documents).
PM and Work Order Provides leadership to the launch team so PM's are efficient and effective for each machine and process being delivered to the manufacturing plant. Critical spare parts on the floor and a list of replacement components from the tool shop.
