GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Manufacturing Technician to join our Manufacturing team in Grand Haven.
What You'll Do
Assists in maintaining and enhancing lean manufacturing practices. Seeks to advance lean manufacturing practices through ongoing support of continuous improvement activities.
Assists in maintaining production equipment. Assists in maintaining production equipment. Manages operator-based preventative maintenance to ensure optimum performance and elimination of unnecessary downtime.
Assures that processes are in control. Maintains process control through the use of specific tools related to process function, such as work standards, molding parameter sheets, paint mix recipes, assembly fixture start up sheets and change over instructions.
Identifies and eliminates sources of downtime. Applies root cause analysis to identify sources of downtime/extraneous variation. Eliminates downtime through implementation of corrective measures. Assists in problem solving efforts with various teams.
Improving manufacturing processes after program launch. Assist in manufacturing processes after program launch by making machine and process refinements to achieve process control, improve part quality, increase efficiencies, and minimize cost.
Maintains documentation and visual aids. Works with Team Coordinators, Quality Facilitators, and Process Engineering to maintain documentation and visual aids such as standardized work, combination tables, PCR, and shark attacks relative to current practices.
Maintains knowledge of new process technology. Maintains current knowledge of latest process and equipment technologies by attending trade show, studying trade publications, benchmarking, etc.

Requirements:What You'll Bring
- Associates in Engineering or equivalent is highly preferred.
- 2 years minimum using lean manufacturing principles in the automotive supply industry preferred.
- 1-5 years in a related technical field or equivalent required.
- Ability to work 2nd shift hours (2:50pm-10:50pm Monday-Friday)
