GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a 3rd Shift Manufacturing Technician to join our Manufacturing team in Hart.
What You'll Do
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing lean manufacturing practices - seeks to advance lean manufacturing practices through ongoing support of continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in maintaining production equipment - assist in maintaining production equipment. Manage operator-based preventative maintenance to ensure optimum performance and elimination of unnecessary downtime.
- Assure that processes are in control - maintain process control through the use of specific tools related to process function, such as work standard, assembly fixture start-up sheets and change over instructions.
- Identify and eliminate sources of downtime - apply root cause analysis to identify sources of downtime/extraneous variation. Eliminates downtime through implementation of corrective measures. Assist in problem solving efforts with various teams.
- Improve manufacturing processes after program launch - assist in manufacturing processes after program launch by making machine and process refinements to achieve process control, improve part quality, increase efficiencies, and minimize cost.
- Maintain documentation and visual aids- work with team coordinators, quality facilitators, and process engineering to maintain documentation and visual aids such as standardized work, combination tables, PCR, and shark attacks relative to current practices.
- Maintain knowledge of new process technology - maintain current knowledge of latest process and equipment technologies.

Requirements:
What You'll Bring
- 0-2 Years minimum experience required
- 2 years minimum in a related technical field or equivalent required
- 2 years minimum using lean manufacturing principles in the automotive supply industry preferred.
- Associates degree in general engineering or equivalent preferred.
