What's The Job?
GHSP, headquartered in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. Reporting to the Launch Manager, GHSP is currently looking for a Test Development Engineer III join our Engineering team in Grand Haven.
The Test Development Engineer III designs, organizes, improves and completes technical work required to support the development of new and existing product validation and verification equipment; supporting multiple disciplines during the development and launch of new and existing products within GHSP. A level III engineer should be able to effectively and efficiently use National Instruments hardware for data acquisition and control as this role is expected to have experience with design and troubleshooting of testing systems.
What You'll Do
Software Development
- Proficiently program using LabVIEW to design data acquisition systems for testing automotive parts developed by GHSP.
- Skilled in building modular and reusable code as part of a team.
- Design software to evaluate data to present to the customer.
- Develop communications required to talk to the parts that we design. I.e. CAN, LIN, PSI5, SENT, etc.
- Troubleshoot software and ensure all system requirements are met.
- Ensure all requirements are properly documented to design the testing software.
Validation
Design and document testing systems required to validate parts.Design and improve equipment.Lead root-cause analysis with validation and system engineering.Complete, accurate and thorough test system documentation.Perform data analysis including data mining and statistical data analysis, when required.Correlate test results to predictive analytical results.Design, evaluate and record data and ensure proper communication between the test systems and the parts.Provide input to management to forecast validation equipment capabilities needs, development and updates as needed for new product test needs.Research and make recommendations on new design enhancements to improve product testability and reliability.Provide lab support to manage issues associated with product testing and reliability, driving the integration of lessons learned into new product designs.Testing
Drive what it takes to test and validate automotive systems and provide data to prove and validate the function.Build, Setup, and prove out the automotive systems we build.Develop requirements that drive the design of new equipment.Build a bill of materials for new projects and ensure that all parts are ordered.Work with the validation team to ensure that the system is working correctly.Customer Engagement
Develop requirements that drive the design of new equipment.Run meetings that will be required to support the testing for a program including tester development timing, progress, and startup.Interact directly with internal customers including validation, systems, and software engineering.Provide and interpret the data required by the teams you will be working with to ensure proper function of the systems we build.Training
Partner with Principal TDE TDE Manager in the training and supporting of new TDE employees (I and II) as they learn to develop software and align design practices with GHSP's standards.What You'll Get

What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics / Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechatronics or related field, required.5-7 years of work experience in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, and / or Test Development, required.Experience within product engineering and / or product validation, preferred.Skilled in software programming tools such as LabVIEW, required.National Instrument Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer, Developer or Architect (CLAD, CLD, CLA) is ideal but not required.Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as needed.
