Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for performing highly diverse clinical and administrative duties requiring advanced knowledge of research operations and attention to detail as well as the ability to assimilate a wide array of information with the skill to process in a timely and orderly fashion. Personnel who fill this role must have a working knowledge of ICH/GCP guidelines. Specific studies are assigned as appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the rights, safety and welfare of all subjects at all times. Ensure that each subject goes through the informed consent process following GCP guidelines, and consent to participate, before any study related procedures are performed
- Work in a collaborative, effective manner with the study personnel to meet research objectives completely and accurately
- Responsible for understanding all internal policies and procedures approved by the Research Manager/Principal Investigator
- Discuss study protocols with patients and verify the informed consent documentation
- Review patient medical history against Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria of studies
- Perform blood draws; process and ship blood/urine specimens per study protocol and IATA regulations
- Schedule patient research visits and procedures consistent with protocol requirements
- Dispense study medication, collect vital signs, and perform ECGs
- Assist with routine data verification and quality control, ensuring data integrity and consistency with prescribed study protocol
- Complete and maintain accurate, legible, and complete source documents and case report forms per FDA guidelines and Sponsor requirements
- Provide subject education on an ongoing basis throughout their participation in the study
- Complete study logs in an accurate and timely manner in the appropriate electronic data system
- Utilize a team approach including the PI, Sub-Investigators, Research Manager and other Research Assistants
- Other duties as assigned

- Proven ability to exercise strong business judgment with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of the pharmaceutical industry
- Ability to travel to other practice locations on an as-needed basis
- Must possess effective public speaking skills
- Must possess effective planning and organizational skills
- Ability to execute both strategically and tactically
Job Requirements:
- Rhode Island RN Licensure
- ACLS Certification Preferred
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited institution required, BSN preferred. RN license required. Must have a current RN license to practice in the state the center is located. CPR and ACLS required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of threefive years medical office management. Experience in internal medicine or GI is preferred.
Performance Requirements:

- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
- Knowledge of managed care, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines.
- Skill in effective personnel management including training staff and delegating duties.
- Skill in written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
- Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and direct the work of others.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
- Prior experience interviewing candidates and determining staffing needs.
- Experience credentialing physicians and mid-level providers
- Experience managing patient issues.
