GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Your role is to always provide patients, coworkers, providers and associates the best professional support and service. In your position you are responsible for:
- Assisting in the achievement of meeting our standards of excellence for both internal and external customer service and patient care.
- Adhering to corporate confidentiality requirements and not disclosing private or protected health information unless required to do so in an official capacity and/or job function.
- Participating in quality control and performance improvement activities as determined by federal, state, local and corporate regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Electronic chart preparation for providers to include all office appointments and some hospital procedures depending on the individual provider request.
- Verify and make sure all necessary documents including labs, imaging, referrals, and other doctor dictation pertinent to the visit are in the chart or in the folder for the upcoming visit.
- Link and close all completed orders.
- Assists with daily rounds
- Gathering outboxes throughout the office
- Distribute the individual items providers leave in their out boxes to ensure they are scanned into gGastro and/or routed to the appropriate staff member if not a document that needs to be imported to a chart.
- Responsible for the daily scanning of charts and miscellaneous paperwork into patients gGastro chart to include faxes, results, other doctors office notes, etc.
- Information coming over the fax needs to be reviewed for upcoming appointments and/or imported directly to a patient’s chart.
- Incoming mail will be handled in the same manner.
- All medical records staff are responsible for answering incoming calls to the medical records hunt group.
- These calls can be handled by any medical records staff member regardless of the location the patient is currently seen.
- All medical records staff are responsible for processing ROI’s that are received daily
- The ROI’s can also be handled by any medical records staff member regardless of the location the patient is currently seen.
- Process daily on tasks within gGastro
- Both the individual and Medical Records task groups.
- Monitor and process incoming questions or records requests via the patient portal.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Prefer one-year work experience in a medical setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
- Word processing and computer experience required.
- Proficient in English grammar and spelling with the ability to speak clear and concise in both written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and multitask effectively.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation that allows you the ability to go between various locations as needed and necessary.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Non‐Clinical – Typical office working environment conditions with occasional lifting requirements of up to 30 lbs. This position requires the ability to access all areas of the organization which could mean minimal exposure to potentially hazardous working environments.
