What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Supervisor position at GI North?
Overtime Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Scope: Responsible for handling any check-in and check-out procedures as well as patient phone calls and acting as liaison between the patient and the doctor. This also includes collecting copays and scrubbing next day schedule as well as a multitude of tasks related to front office functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assigned task(s) to team members and determine the completion timeline and monitor progress to keep the project(s)/task(s) on track and on schedule.
- Communicate clear instructions to team members.
- Manage the flow of day-to-day operations.
- Create and distribute reports to update the company on the team’s progress.
- Assist Front Desk Manager with Humanity and gMed on-call schedule and gMed clinic schedule: provider time off is reflected and schedules are monitored for any appointments that need to be moved/changed.
- Help train new employees or team members with new or current policy and procedures.
- Monitor team members attendance: call outs, making sure each office is staffed accordingly, and cover all locations when team members call out/time off is requested.
- Daily tasks and emails.
- Scheduling patient appointments and answering telephone calls.
- Insurance verification for clinic appointments.
- Patient Check in and registration.
- Verifying insurance prior to a patient’s appointment.
- Collecting co-pays and other balances.
- Patient Check-out.
- Complete triage forms for nurses.
- Tracking of no-show appointments; sending task to clinical staff and billing.
- Obtain insurance referrals for clinic appointments.
- Documents and distributes messages as needed.
- Assists in distribution of faxes and scans throughout the day.
- Scans insurance cards/ID/reports/paperwork as needed into the EMR.
- Monitors “Wait List” and schedule daily to ensure there are no gaps in the clinical schedule.
- Maintains order/cleanliness of assigned workstations.
- Ability to listen carefully and effectively.
- Ability to grasp company policies and values.
- Accuracy of work with eye of detail in completing documentation in EMR.
- Ability to demonstrate a friendly style and work effectively under pressure when needed.
- Ability to multitask in multiple computer programs.
- Detail oriented to assign tasks to physicians or nursing staff.
- Will perform other duties and tasks as assigned by manager/administrator.

Requirements:Education and/or Experience:
- High school or equivalent
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone and computer experience required.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registration: CPC, preferred but not required.
