The Senior Account Coordinator - Public Relations plays a pivotal role in the career path toward becoming an Account Executive, reporting directly to the Senior Account Director. This role encompasses a dual focus, balancing critical organizational and administrative tasks for client accounts with strategic contributions to public relations initiatives. The Senior Account Coordinator communicates effectively internally and externally, supports the team in demonstrating ROI, and gains hands-on experience in writing and pitching, laying the foundation for advancement within the field.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Media List Management : Build and maintain targeted media lists customized to clients and industries.
  • Client Communication : Interact professionally with clients through phone, email, and in-person meetings, ensuring effective communication.
  • Report Generation : Create biweekly, monthly, and wrap reports for multiple client accounts, providing valuable insights.
  • Pitching : Develop and execute various media pitches for clients
  • Media Monitoring : Monitor media coverage for all clients and prepare accurate and timely press reports on a daily basis.
  • Coverage Analysis : Assist in monitoring and organizing media coverage, compiling key metrics, and preparing preliminary insights to help the team demonstrate clients’ return on investment (ROI).
  • Event Coordination : Assist in implementing media or special events by building lists, managing media check-ins, and handling RSVPs.
  • Meeting Coordination : Coordinate meetings for clients and team members, ensuring seamless logistics. Draft agendas and recaps for all client meetings and calls to facilitate smooth communication and documentation.
  • Written Materials : Draft press releases, social media posts, and other PR and marketing materials under supervision.
  • Strategy Support : Support the senior team with strategy development by actively participating in brainstorming sessions, conducting research, and contributing ideas.
  • TV Segment Attendance : Attend TV segments for clients as required.
  • Time Tracking : Accurately track time on a daily basis to ensure efficient project management.
  • Intern Mentorship : Assist in coordinating the internship program by overseeing daily workflows, serving as a point of contact for questions, and offering guidance and mentorship to interns throughout each semester.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Writing Skills : Possess strong writing, editing, organization, and proofreading skills.
  • Organization : Demonstrate effective organizational skills, including multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
  • Communication : Exhibit excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey project statuses to supervisors.
  • Software Proficiency : Proficiency in using appropriate software such as Muck Rack, Google Suite, etc.
  • Team Collaboration : Ability to work well independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Research : Understand and utilize research techniques effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge : Work to understand the client’s industry, terminology, and competitive landscape.
  • Educational Background : Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, demonstrating a strong educational foundation relevant to the role.
  • Agency Experience : Possess one (1) to two (2) years of agency experience demonstrating the ability to apply foundational public relations skills such as media list management and coverage analysis while building toward more strategic responsibilities.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Physical Demands : Sitting 85% of the time, standing 15% of the time.
  • Working Hours : Typically, work hours are from 9 : 00 AM CST to 6 : 00 PM CST, Mondays through Fridays. Availability to work as needed on nights and weekends may be required.
  • Physical Ability : Capable of lifting 20-50 lbs. as necessary.
  • Manual Dexterity : Regular use of hands and fingers for computer use.
  • Sensory Function : Everyday use of vision and auditory senses, including exposure to blue light from computers.
  • Environment : Work primarily indoors in an environmentally controlled setting. However, occasional travel and the ability to work in-office and on-site for client related meetings and events may be necessary.
  • Communication : Daily communication with peers, media, and clients is essential to the role.
  • Cognitive Demands : Ability to maintain cognitive thinking and logical reasoning throughout tasks and responsibilities.
