What are the responsibilities and job description for the Giant Spoon is hiring: Graphic Design Intern (Summer) in New York position at Giant Spoon?
We are excited to have a Graphic Design intern join our team for this summer from June 3rd to August 8th! This role will work alongside the Giant Spoon creative and design teams to bring stories to life for our clients' brands. The ideal candidate is a curious, highly motivated & collaborative graphic designer with an eye for both the big picture and the details. You don't have a favorite medium because you like creating and problem-solving in them all, from print to digital, social to experiential. You are a team player, responsible for concepting and designing brand campaigns in partnership with other creatives across a wide range of disciplines : campaign development, experiential design, presentation design, editorial design, product design, brand identity development, and motion graphics.
As a Giant Spoon intern, you will be welcome to join any town halls, weekly updates, lunches and happy hours during the summer. As part of the program, we will also be offering a series of workshops and Q&As with craft leads to gain insights into the day to day of neighboring departments.
This team is based in the New York office and works in a hybrid fashion with in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Responsibilities
- Help produce designs of creative decks / presentations in pre-sale and post-sale for brand partners, working directly with the creative teams to deliver custom visual packages within a tight timeframe that reflect the individual needs of each client / RFP. These can include moodboards, custom logos, mockups and reference imagery sourcing
- Contribute to branding for campaigns ranging in scope from one-off logo design to full brand systems meant to last for multiple years
- Translates creative strategy into a visual language that supports our clients' missions and values
- Develops mood boards / inspiration boards to communicate design intent to internal and external partners
- Creates detailed print files and print mechanicals for efficient vendor communication for IRL initiatives
- Source premium imagery and designs mockups and executions using creative tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Effectively communicates ideas and presents work to the creative team
- Create a Spoonshot project (a mini-presentation on a relevant topic) in collaboration with other interns that will be presented internally at Giant Spoon
Requirements
The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $18.00-20.00. The rate is determined based on a wide range of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, job duties, and geographic location.
