Job Description
The Director of Process Engineering is responsible for leading the process engineering function, ensuring excellence in design, optimization, and execution of complex projects in alignment with corporate and industry standards. This role plays a key part in driving innovation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across all process engineering activities. The Director will lead a team of highly skilled engineers, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
Experience & Education
Master s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering
15 years in process engineering, including 10 years in leadership
Energy, chemical, or industrial sector experience preferred
PE license or equivalent preferred
Additional certifications in process safety or project management are a plus
Expertise in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II)
Deep understanding of process safety management, compliance, and standards
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor to clients
Lead and mentor the process engineering team with clear goals and development plans
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
Align engineering objectives with corporate goals through cross-functional collaboration
Partner with international technical teams for efficient, value-added delivery
Oversee process designs to ensure alignment with scope, cost, and performance
Provide technical oversight for simulations, calculations, and design documentation
Implement industry best practices and standards in all deliverables
Manage process engineering in project execution, ensuring timely deliverables
Validate process models, material balances, PFDs, and P&IDs
Oversee PHA, risk assessments, and safety reviews for compliance
Stay updated on emerging technologies, integrating innovative solutions
Champion digital tools and advanced analytics in process design
Collaborate with R&D to scale new technologies
Develop KPIs to monitor team and project performance
Provide regular updates on activities, challenges, and achievements
Serve as a technical interface with clients, vendors, and contractors
Support business development by contributing technical expertise to proposals
