Reports to the Pharmacy managers. Close supervision is received by the Pharmacy managers. Functional supervision may be exercised by the Pharmacists and Lead Pharmacy Technician as assigned by the managers.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Procures and distributes drug orders per physician request, pharmacist request or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures and protocols, and within specified timeframe.
- Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies, procedures and protocols and within specific timeframe.
- Contributes to the effective operation of the department.
- Daily Automation duties as assigned.
- Participates in the quality improvement activities of the department.
- Participate in improvement activities that affect the pharmacy inventory and cost.
- Maintains competency required for current job title/position.
- Prepares prescriptions and reconstitutes oral suspensions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail within specified times.
- Ability to work cooperatively with pharmacy staff.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
- Ability to set priorities and solve problems.
- Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training to new team members.
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Make local deliveries daily.
- Ability to interact and assist the public (customers, patients)
- Process insurance claims
- Receive prescriptions and check their validity
- Select appropriate medicine and measuring dosages to fill prescriptions
- Sterilize surfaces and equipment
- Provide excellent patient service by answering inquiries and educating patients about their medications.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of a computer keyboard).
- May require lifting and carrying light loads (e.g., boxes, equipment) and stooping or kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves, and to file documents in lower file drawers).
- Physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks:
- Floor to waist - 30 pounds
- 14” to waist - 40 pounds
- Waist to shoulder - 20 pounds
- Shoulder to overhead - 20 pounds
- Carry 30 pounds for 30 feet
- Push 40 pounds/force for 15 feet
- Pull 40 pounds/force for 15 feet
- Walking or standing for long periods of time (4-8 hours) often necessary.
- Must be able to physically operate the equipment used in the job.
