Principle Duties And Responsibilities
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with physicians, department and hospital staff, patients, caregivers and referral sources.
- Provides comprehensive wound assessment and evaluation and works closely with the Wound Care Medical Director to plan, implement and coordinate the patient's needs.
- Demonstrates competence in patient/wound assessment and dressing protocols /procedures and products.
- Documents assessment and patient data following all existing structure standards and guidelines for forms
- Evaluates effectiveness of care given by self and by all health care team members. Also, evaluates contribution of systems, environment, and instrumentation in processing patients toward desired outcomes.
- Demonstrates competency in select psychomotor skills adhering to predefined written procedures.
- Identifies patient learning needs and readiness for learning. Implements patient/significant other instruction to meet self-care needs as defined in standards of care and patient teaching protocols.
- Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patient rights, as identified within the institution.

- Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events.
