What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Pantry Coordinator position at Gibson Area Hospital?
GENERAL SUMMARY
Food Pantry Coordinator will maintain the Operations of the Food Pantry, to include the space and all required paperwork for hospital, local, state and governmental requirements; preparing and distributing customers orders. Also, work with Director of Employee and Community Events (ECE) with events throughout the year.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain proper inventory levels in order to complete distribution days twice a month.
2. Check expiration dates on food.
3. Food Purchasing with Eastern Illinois Food Bank and local grocery.
4. Scheduling volunteers for distribution weekends. Friday, on delivery weekends, for preparing orders and Saturday for the Food Pantry and delivery.
5. Assisting with preparations Friday evening prior to Saturday Food Pantry opening
6. Saturday Food Pantry (2x/month)
7. Assure that all equipment is maintained and building cleanliness is up to high standards.
8. Maintain client records.
9. Meeting with health department and other officials as needed.
10. Continue relationships with local churches.
11. Send thank you letters to donors.
12. Answer Food Pantry call line for messages.
13. Prepare reports for the Food Pantry Advisory Board.
14. Attend Food Pantry Board meetings.
15. Assist Director of Employee and Community Events with events throughout the year.
16. Join Personnel and Retention Committee
17. Other duties as assigned by the Director of ECE.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Work requires the ability to perform the following lifting tasks:
a. Floor to Knuckle- 35lbs
b. 12 to Knuckle- 30lbs
c. Knuckle to Shoulder- 20lbs
d. Shoulder to Overhead- 15lbs
e. Carry 14ft- 30lbs
f. Push 25ft- 50lbs
g. Pull 10ft- 35lbs
2. Work requires the ability to stand to 4 hours at a time on a daily basis.
3. Work requires the ability to reach and grab with arms and hands, manual dexterity, ability to crawl and maneuver in confined spaces and ability to communicate with others and color vision. Work requires sufficient auditory and visual acuity to interact with and/or care for others.
4. Work requires proofreading and checking documents for accuracy on a daily basis.
5. Work requires ability to ascend and descend ramps and or stairs on a daily basis.
6. Work requires ability to maintain balance (body equilibrium) to prevent falling when walking on narrow or uneven surfaces.

Reports to the Director of Employee & Community Events
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Work requires valid Illinois Class C drivers license or ability to obtain such a license prior to the completion of orientation. Must be at least 21 years old and have a safe driving record in order to be insured by carrier.
2. Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with customers, family members and/or significant others.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Work may require exposure to extremes in temperature loading/unloading products from trucks and when fulfilling orders on distribution days.
