Description
The EMT-P is a care giver who functions as a team leader when responding to emergency calls or during emergency calls or during emergency transport. In the care giver role, the EMT-/B-I-P, assumes the responsibility for the emergency treatment and routine transfers of patients. As field leader, the EMT/I-P directs and oversees the care given by their co-workers, other EMS personnel, and bystanders via delegation for highest level of care, coordination, supervision, validation, and evaluation. EMT-B-I perform patient care technician duties in ER within their licensure as directed by RN.
Qualifications
EMT - BASIC
- 21 years or older
- High School education or equivalent
- Completion EMT-B program
- Current Illinois EMT-B license
- Valid Illinois drive’s license with good record
EMT – INTERMEDIATE
- Same as above
- Completion of EMT-I program
- Current Illinois EMT-I license
EMT – PARAMEDIC
- Same as EMT- B and EMT-I, plus
- Completion of Paramedic program
- Current Illinois EMT-P license, ACLS, PALS or PEPP and ITLS certified.
- Two years as and EMT-P. Good standing with the local EMS system.
Salary : $18 - $26
