JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR ONCOLOGY CLINIC, INFUSION CENTER, OUTPATIENT CLINIC AND CARDIOPULMONARY REHAB.
DEPARTMENTS: OUTPATIENT CLINIC, ONCOLOGY CLINIC, INFUSION CENTER AND CARDIOPULMONARY REHAB CLINIC
GENERAL SUMMARY
This position is responsible for generating and sustaining linkages for the patients GAHHS serves by matching patient needs with appropriate services as well as maintaining and updating patient records. This position is under the direction of the Director for Oncology Clinic, Infusion Center, Outpatient Clinic and Cardiopulmonary Rehab.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in managing the daily needs for training, scheduling and evaluation of the Outpatient Clinic, Oncology Clinic, Infusion Center and Cardiopulmonary Rehab staff.
2. Coordinate patient progression throughout the continuum of care to achieve desired outcomes and organizational goals while promoting continuity of care, collaborative practice and appropriate utilization of resources.
3. Assist in the direction and supervision of staff via clinical rounds, staff meeting participation, and individual communication.
4. Demonstrate ability to create connections between vulnerable populations and health care systems.
5. Demonstrates strong clinical and managerial leadership in directing and
supporting staff while simultaneously ensuring integration of unit and division level activities.
6. Creates and maintains reports from patient data; intake sheets, contact sheet and other forms as necessary to meet program information and reporting expectations.
7. Assists with identifying departmental resources and needs; provides input for each department’s budget.
8. Assists with development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Ensures staff compliance with department and facility-wide policies.
9. Actively participates in developing a Quality and Performance Improvement program for each department overseen.
10. Responsible for adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards and participates in all GAHHS surveys as required.
11. Holds, chairs, attends and participates on committees, task forces and meetings for coordination/facilitation of nursing activities on the unit, department division and hospital levels as requested by department director.
12. Participate in training, continuing education and certification programs. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and willingness to learn EHR program(s), tracking software programs, and data base building programs, and other software systems as needed.
13. Must be able to work extended hours as required.
14. Willing to accept new duties as department growth evolves.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Excellent, visual, hearing, speech/articulation abilities.
2. Emotional stability to deal with prolonged stress of directing staff, coordinating activities and providing positive interaction during times of stress and constant change.
3. Excellent verbal and written skills for high level of communication within the division of nursing and interdisciplinary and administration meetings.
4. Strong intellectual abilities of critical thinking and decision making to assist Clinical Educator with the division of nursing program.
5. Manual dexterity to use computer to communicate, investigate and educate.
6. Physical strength to perform CPR(bed/floor), lift/push/pull 60-300 pounds (with assistance) as often as 5-10 times per 4-8 hours and perform constant walking, twisting, turning, and stretching maneuvers in patient care and use of patient care equipment.
7. Work requires ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time (2-3 hours)
8. Physical strength to perform the following lifting tasks:
• Floor to waist - 40 pounds
• 14” to waist - 50 pounds
• Waist to shoulder - 20 pounds
• Shoulder to overhead - 10 pounds
• Carry 40 pounds for 30 feet
• Push 40 pounds/force for 30 feet
• Pull 40 pounds/force for 10 feet
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports to the Director of Outpatient Clinic, Cardiopulmonary Rehab, Infusion Center and Oncology Clinic.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Requires Bachelor's degree in Nursing, with a current Illinois Nursing License.
2. Requires a minimum of (2) years nursing management experience.
INFECTION EXPOSURE RISK LEVEL
Category I - Maximal Risk – this job exposes you to potential blood, body fluids, and tissues on a routine basis. It is recommended that you get the Hepatitis vaccine.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Sitting at a desk, typing and use of computer, for long periods of time.
2. Will be required to assist with patient care, and be exposed to contagious diseases or infectious materials, but potential for personal harm and injury is limited when proper safety and health precautions and equipment are used.
3. Driving to meetings, educational offerings out of the facility
Salary : $58,000 - $93,000
