What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neck Line Machine Operator position at GIBSON Inc?
Job Summary: The purpose of Neck Line is to create the ideal sanded guitar neck. Neck Line is the last step in the creation of a guitar neck before it is attached to a guitar body. Operators need to be intimately familiar with model types and wood species. Producing an ideal neck is paramount to creating a guitar that is both perfectly playable and aesthetically pleasing.
Essential Functions:
- Learn and execute process Standard of Work
- Meet expected productivity standards
- Able to operate a spindle and orbital sander to a high degree of precision
- 95% pass rate based on production requirements
- Understands and meets quality standards (Specs.)
- Maintains product flow at appropriate rate
- Adheres to department protocols (5S and Safety)
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of various production models.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision.
- Teamwork and project management skills combined with ability to work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Able to proactively question and challenge to prioritize and identify solutions in timely manner.
Education and Experience:
- Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand most of the day and lift up to 10lbs occasionally.
- Occasional overtime is required
