JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Project Manager / Estimator
Reports To: Team Lead
Summary: The Project Manager / Estimator (PME) will support the Team Lead, Project Coordinators and field crew in planning, implementing, monitoring and controlling project performance to complete projects in the safest, most efficient and productive manner that delivers projects within budget and on schedule. They will also be actively involved with estimating and bidding processes for their team.
Essential Duties: The position duties include but are not limited to the following:
General Duties
- Work directly with Team Lead for complete execution of projects, taking responsibility for the project profitability.
- Responsible for full project lifecycle, from initial project development (private) or bidding (public) through final completion, concentrating on effective collaboration with all applicable Team and Central Services resources (BD, Team Lead, Project Coordinators, etc.).
Estimating Duties
- Obtain bidding documents and analyze bid documents for scope, schedule, conflicts /clarification needs, risk, and construction strategy.
- Perform detailed take-offs for material quantities, cut/fill analysis, project details and requirements, and all other cost factors.
- Solicit and manage vendor quotes for materials, subcontractors, and equipment/labor needs.
- Attend pre-bid meetings.
- Request, receive, and manage quotes for materials, subcontractors, and equipment/labor needs.
- Prepare detailed bid estimates in HCSS HeavyBid for Team Lead review.
Project Management Duties
- Understand plans, specifications, and permit requirements for assigned projects.
- Monitor labor costs against the budget and implement timely budget adjustments to ensure accurate current project budget.
- Negotiate, draft, issue, and manage all purchase orders and subcontracts for assigned projects.
- Understand and identify changes to the Contract and be able to capture the appropriate costs for each change.
- Communicate, schedule, and support field crews, traveling to job sites throughout New England.
- Prepare, negotiate, submit, and monitor progress payments to ensure timely receipt of payment from the Owner.
- Develop and foster good working relationships with Owners to complete the project successfully.
- Develop, prepare, submit, and update CPM schedules in MS Project or P6.
Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: BS Degree, Environmental or Civil Engineering preferred. 5 years of experience in the field of construction and/or environmental restoration. Civil/ site construction experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Work Environment: The work environment will include time in an office with hours at a computer. The employee will also be in the field coordinating with crew and subcontractors when required. SumCo Eco-Contracting performs work in all types of weather, providing the work conditions are still safe for employees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
