Immediate Supervisor: Gifford Farm Coordinator

Essential Requirements: The position of Animal Care requires a person who enjoys working with animals and working outside a great deal of the time. The position requires general knowledge of animal care and feeding.
- No history of child abuse or negligence.
- Regular and dependable in-person attendance is required and is considered a condition of employment.
- Successfully pass required background checks.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Understand and comply with the ESU #3 Board of Education Personnel Policies and Employee Handbook.
- Perform animal care duties such as preparing food, feeding and providing water, cleaning barns, and animal pens. This may include sweeping and mopping floors and general upkeep of the farm.
- Monitors sick, quarantined, and injured animals and observes them for unusual physical and behavioral issues.
- Learn the physical and behavioral characteristics of animals.
- Prepare barns and help with moving animals in preparation for programs.
- Notify the Coordinator of damaged equipment and equipment needs.
- Notify the Coordinator of food /hay/straw needs
- Other duties as assigned.
