Job Summary
The Facilities Lead oversees the physical plant and environment of the Gift of Life entities 24-7 to support the mission of Gift of Life, create an optimal atmosphere for staff, volunteers, and visitors, to minimize business interruption, and to improve efficiency. They will play a major role in direct operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of the organization’s physical plant and equipment.

An eager, passionate, skilled, committed self-starter with a minimum of seven years commercial real estate building maintenance experience coupled with strong relationship building skills and experience working well with outside contractors. Be able to assess an issue and get it fixed either directly or through outside vendors.

- Minimum of three years commercial real estate building maintenance experience including
- Plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry
- Medical office building and hospitality setting maintenance experience a strong plus.
- HVAC certification preferred with experience using computer run HVAC control systems.
- Knowledge and experience with low pressure steam boilers, refrigeration and air conditioning, generators, plumbing, electrical systems, blueprint reading, security systems and equipment maintenance.
- Basic MS Office suite skills
- Tools, transportation, and availability for 24-hour 365 days a year for emergency on-call response
- Knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
- Ability to push, pull and move equipment and/or supplies in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to distinguish colors
Liaison with Facilities Management company, contractors and consultants and ensure accountability from third parties ( Housekeeping, Security, HVAC, Plumbing, Landscaping)
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels/resource commitments are available to Gift of Life and provide day to day oversight.
- Maintain an effective, timely and quality Preventive Maintenance program for all properties.
- Prepare and adhere to a budget for facilities.
- Perform direct troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs including general plumbing, carpentry, drywall, paint, HVAC, and other building issues.
- Monitor nearby construction and utilities work for impact on Gift of Life.
- Triage and address building emergencies
- Ensure 24/7 response time to building emergencies so GLDP facilities are always operational.
- Identify need for and assist with special projects for the GOL properties effectively addressing the needs of departments and tenants regarding special events.
- Participate effectively as a team member on special projects and oversee and guide the Facilities Technician.
- Supervises one maintenance Technician and a variety of contract staff
- Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm and other hours as needed; on-call 24/7
