What You’ll Do
As our Head of Advocacy for Programs and Events, you’ll lead a high-performing team in overseeing the planning and execution of events to increase engagement and funding, develop partnerships with community leaders and volunteer programming, and provide direction to the community relations team ensuring that all outreach efforts align with our mission.
Your responsibilities will include :
Develop strategic plans for advocacy and events
- Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to define strategic direction of our advocacy and event initiatives.
- Align our advocacy and outreach efforts with our mission and goals.
- Identify areas of focus that will drive community engagement and public awareness of organ and tissue donation.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
Cultivate and solicit major gift contributors, fostering partnerships and advancing donor engagement.Implement a robust donor recognition system, including events, printed materials, and personalized outreach.Oversee all community engagement initiatives, related fundraising and community events
Oversee and supervise the planning and execution of all community activities including educational programs, donor drives and public programs.Build partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, healthcare institutions and government agencies to expand the reach of these initiatives, generate revenue and foster meaningful community participation.Promotes brand with media and community partners
Collaborate with the communications team to ensure that advocacy programs and events receive appropriate media coverage and are effectively promoted to the public including creating compelling event promotions, news stories, and campaigns the resonate with target audiences.Increase public awareness for donation and transplantation.Oversees stakeholder relationships and community and civic outreach
Supervises and strengthens relationships with regional, community-based coalitions, healthcare partners and volunteer group ensuring they have the support and resources necessary to further our mission.Develop goals and evaluation tools to measure the success of partnerships and outreach efforts.Use data to develop strategies for effective education, outreach and collaborations
Leverage data from clinical operations, donor registries, and external sources to develop targeted outreach strategies that drive education and collaboration within the community.Use the data analytics tools to monitor the impact of the events and programs on awareness and donor registration rates.Establish measurable goals and conduct post-event evaluations for each campaign and event.Provide fiscal oversight that maximizes the budget
Track and measure effectiveness and business impact of projects and initiative including monitoring and reporting team finances to meet budget targets.Manage outside consultants and vendors to provide fiscal responsible service and high-quality work.Manages team of advocacy and events staff
Hire, manage and develop the community relations team including providing strategic direction ensuring effective execution of events, programs and partnerships.What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience : Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) in education, communications, marketing, public health or related field and at least ten years of relevant community relations experience.Expertise : Proven experience in development strategy, and budget oversight for community outreach and advocacy; as well as large event management and outreach to underserved / multicultural communitiesTechnical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Leadership : A collaborative and forward-thinking approach to managing teams and achieving goals.Why Join Us?
