Responsibilities
School LPNs conduct physical healthcare assessments and screenings, including temperature checks, vision, hearing, dental, and nutritional assessments. School LPNs provide counseling and guidance to students, parents and staff regarding health-related attendance problems. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collect and document data regarding student’s health status, such as immunizations and nursing care
- Communicate essential information regarding treatments provided and observations of the student to the School RN
- Administer first aid and care to students who are ill or injured according to district protocols and under the direction of the RN
- Accompany students that require medical attention during transportation
