The Pharmacy Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring exceptional pharmacy operations and patient care at Gifthealth. Pharmacy Operations & Compliance
- Oversee all day-to-day pharmacy functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of prescriptions, including cold chain and specialty medications.
- Maintain full compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, and internal SOPs.
- Drive process improvements that reduce turnaround time and error rates.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
- Develop training programs to ensure all staff meet productivity, accuracy, and compliance standards.
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement through coaching and regular performance reviews.
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and scheduling staff to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
- Track and manage daily KPIs including:
- Scripts verified per RPh per hour/day
- Average turnaround time (from intake to dispense)
- Accuracy rate of dispensing (error-free rate)
- Inventory waste/reconciliation metrics
- Set weekly goals based on volume trends and adjust staffing and workflows accordingly.
- Work cross-functionally to reduce bottlenecks in checkout, labeling, and shipping.
- Leverage technology and automation to improve order processing and reduce manual errors.
- Provide direct patient care through counseling, clinical interventions, and medication therapy management (MTM).
- Support pharmacist clinical KPIs such as intervention acceptance rates and patient adherence metrics.
- Manage inventory levels with a focus on turns, accuracy, and minimization of expired or wasted medications.
- Implement and maintain best practices for cold chain storage, drug recalls, and quarantine protocols.
- Collaborate with the Inventory & Logistics team to ensure proper forecasting and ordering.
- Pharm.D. from an accredited institution and active pharmacist license in state of practice (multi-state preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience, with 2 years in a leadership/management role in a high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to lead operational teams using KPIs, data, and workflows to improve outcomes.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable with technology, automation, and pharmacy systems (e.g., BestRx, PioneerRx, or equivalent).
- Experience with cold chain and specialty medication fulfillment is a plus.
