The purpose of this position is to fulfill accounting and administrative functions and to ensure County funds are handled correctly. This position makes this possible by adhering to Arizona Statutes on governmental accounting and reporting as well as all Federal Mandates.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not supervise other employees.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES% OF TIME SPENTServes as the main point of contact for any information concerning funds and budgets for County offices, fire districts and the cities and towns. 30%Represents the County Treasurer's Office during audits and prepares all necessary records in reference to the Office's transactions and funds balances.20% Accurately allocates funds to various entities listed on taxbills, to ensure entities meet their budgets and maintain healthy credit lines. Such allocation process is carried out according to Arizona Statutes and accounting guidelines through reports and statements, completed daily, monthly and annually.10% Attends to phone calls and provides guidance to citizens with tax-related questions during peak tax collection times.10%Maintains and balances checkbook daily and processes journals from Finance Department, schools and special districts.10%Performs cash and bank reconciliations.10%Uploads and processes warrants from banks before posting and provides corresponding reports to the Finance Department, the County School Superintendent’s Office and the Payson School District.10%Performs other duties as assigned.BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIESThis position reviews, edits and provides recommendations on department and County-wide budgets.PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIESThis position does not have project responsibilities.ORAL COMMUNICATION DUTIESThis position trains colleagues and explains County procedures or processes.
