We are looking for, adaptable, well-rounded individuals, who are seeking insight into the workings of local government, explore new career avenues and acquire lifelong skills. Temporary employment assignments are open to high school juniors and seniors, those enrolled in the next college semester and young adults and are based on entry-level professional job descriptions, which will involve a great deal of independent and team-oriented work under the guidance of a supervisor and mentors.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities and tasks vary by department but may include: Performs clerical office duties including data entry, filing, mail processing, faxing, and copying, reception duties, and other general administrative and clerical support functions.Provide support with special projects.May include attendance of Board of Supervisors’ Meeting or senior staff meeting.Perform grounds keeping duties.Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers or axes.Gather and remove litter.Trim shrubs and pull weeds.Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger.Rake and prune grounds as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.
