General Description:

Under managerial direction: plans and provides radiation oncology treatments to patients, ensuring quality treatments. Adherence to radiation therapy policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in a variety of duties involved in the administration of radiation therapy to patient.
- Operation of Varian Triology iX linear accelerator.
- Mosiaq record and verify
- CBCT, KV-KV, and MV imaging
- CT simulations
- Electron block cutting
- Participates in CT scans and fluoroscopy for the purpose of treatment planning
- Follow established policies, procedures, quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, radiation safety and infection control standards.
- Perform proper handling of hazardous waste materials.
- Keep accurate and complete patient records relating to care
- Provide support and education to patients and family.
- Staff coverage of Monday through Fridays (Days)
- Treatment of 8-10 patients per day. Generally about 180 patient treatments per month.
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Training Requirements:
- Graduation of an accredited radiation therapy program
- Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT) or registry eligible within New Mexico certification
- NM Radiation Therapist licensure
- BLS certification through AHA
- Two years of experience required
- New graduates a possibility
