Summary :

The Talent Acquisition Specialist for Gila River Development (GRD) and its managed businesses is responsible for driving organizational growth through strategic talent acquisition and seamless onboarding. The role ensures that all recruitment, onboarding, and employee transition activities with GRD's mission cultivate a dynamic and engaged workforce that supports the organization's long-term goals and values. The position plays a critical role in supporting the organization's mission to attract, retain, and develop a talented and diverse workforce that aligns with the community's and company's objectives.

Responsibilities :

Recruitment and Candidate Management

  • Post job descriptions on various platforms, ensuring they align with the needs of GRD and managed businesses.
  • Proactively source and engage qualified candidates using the company's applicant tracking system (ATS), job boards, social media, professional network, and innovative recruiting strategies.
  • Conduct pre-screen interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, cultural fit, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and provide interview preparation materials.
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a positive candidate experience.

Onboarding

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the onboarding process for new hires, including scheduling orientation and ensuring completion of necessary documentation.
  • Manage and coordinate collaboration with relevant departments to ensure new hires are equipped with the tools, access, and information needed to succeed.
  • Refine and oversee onboarding procedures to boost employee engagement and streamline the path to operational readiness.
  • Applicant Tracking and Reporting

  • Utilize the ATS to track, monitor, and report on key hiring metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate sourcing effectiveness.
  • Generate reports and provide data-driven insights to improve the efficiency of recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate and complaint candidates' data, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and legal regulations.
  • Employee Lifecycle and Transitions

  • Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback, identify trends, and recommend strategies to improve employee retention.
  • Support offboarding processes by ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Align talent acquisition efforts with broader organizational development initiatives to support workforce planning, succession planning, and the organization's long-term goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand current and future workforce needs and provide strategic recommendations for filling open positions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies and professional networks to support talent acquisition initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders on matters related to recruitment, and onboarding matters, promoting collaboration and alignment across departments.
  • Compliance and Best Practices

  • Stay informed on employment laws and industry trend, and best practices in talent acquisition and organizational development.
  • Continuously research and implement recruitment strategies to enhance talent acquisition strategies and employer branding.
  • Develop and promote hiring initiatives that encourage and prioritize the recruitment and employment of Tribal Members, ensuring alignment with the organization's cultural values and community goals.
  • Maintain compliance with Tribal, federal, and state employment regulations, fostering a recruitment process that reflects respect for Tribal sovereignty and traditions.

  • Physical Demands :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and / or move 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

    Required Qualifications :

  • Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, or related Human Resources functions.
  • Tribal Human Resources Professional (THRP) I & II certification within the first year of hire.
  • Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
  • Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
  • A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
  • Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as THRP I & II, Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or a relevant recruiting certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software to manage recruitment processes effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on creating a positive and engaging candidate experience.
  • Highly developed organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and compliance requirements, with a preference for candidates possessing direct knowledge in this area.
  • Expertise in talent sourcing and networking to identify and engage with top talent.
  • Skilled in data analysis and reporting to evaluate recruitment metrics and improve decision-making.
  • Experience in driving process improvements to optimize talent acquisition and HR workflows.
  • Adept at collaboration and relationship-building with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills to balance competing deadlines and achieve goals efficiently.
  • Analytical and critical thinking abilities to solve problems and address challenges effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities.
  • Proficient in MS office and other relevant workplace tools.
