What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Technician - EVS-HHK-Sacaton position at Gila River Health Care?
Position Summary: Daily activities of EVS Floor Technician are to maintain flooring throughout areas of assigned campus. Maintain a schedule consistent with maintaining high traffic areas (waiting areas, public restrooms, exam rooms, etc.) in accordance with established standards and requirements. Informs EVS Supervisor of completed work activities to ensure adherence with established quantity and quality standards. In addition, EVS Floor Technician will complete work orders and other project work throughout Gila River Health Care (GRHC) campuses.
Critical Tasks:
- Assists Department in monitoring, and scheduling work consistent with floor traffic to ensure maintenance of established cleanliness standards.
- Review daily work orders to ensure adherence with established work measures and quality standards and inform EVS Manager of concerns/issues.
- Assist EVS Supervisors with performing routine and department inspections of completed work activities of floors completed and identified areas during the shift.
- Assists EVS Supervisors with work order or projects and follow up on complaints to ensure timely response and/or appropriate resolution to concerns/issues.
- Develop a cleaning schedule for all buildings within GRHC campus and modifying schedules as needed to address special situations.
- Assists Department in identifying and recommending quality products and training needed designed to further skills and knowledge.
- Assists Department in procurement of and monitoring inventory levels of flooring supplies and equipment.
- Assists Department in identifying and recommending replacement of equipment and/or supplies as needed.
- Knowledge of materials, methods and practices used to properly clean and maintain all types of flooring
- Knowledge of the proper operation, use and care of wet and dry vacuum cleaners, mop wringers, brooms, mops, cleaning fluids and other cleaning materials
- Knowledge of proper safety precautions/procedures associated with using a variety of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment.
- Ability to operate a variety of cleaning equipment including vacuums, buffers, extractors and polishers.
- Ability to apply understanding of inventory management practices and methods.
- Ability to apply understanding of the principles, practices and methods of working independently.
- Ability to change priorities to accomplish tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Assists Security by responding to called hospital code situations including location of fires, assist transport and/or evacuate patients.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 1-year institutional cleaning experience, hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations, read and communicate in English.
- State of AZ Driver’s License with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Indian Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
