What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Supervisor-HHK-Sacaton position at Gila River Health Care?
Position Summary: Oversees protection of GRHC property, employees, patients and visitors against assault, theft, vandalism, fire and other hazards. Supervises and directs assigned Officers in accordance with GRHC policies and procedures. Conducts frequent, random patrols of the GRHC facilities as necessary and remains constantly alert to any and all activities which violate facility rules or regulations, taking the necessary action to prevent or stop these infractions.
Critical Tasks:
- Supervises the daily operation of assigned Officers, including interviewing applicants, scheduling, training, completing performance evaluations, completing corrective action, coaching and ensuring the completion of all required reports and inspections.
- Ensures all shifts have adequate coverage by handling any issues or irregularities that arise.
- Recognizes safety and security hazards on campus and takes appropriate corrective actions.
- Performs regular patrols of the entire facility to facilitate a strong security presence focused on the safety of patients, staff, providers, and visitors.
- Investigates security violations, incidents, and insider threat concerns to prepare reports appropriately including video playback requests.
- Contributes to efficient operations by assisting with coordinating activities, prioritizing workflow and promoting decision-making and problem solving.
- Preemptively identifies risky situations such as fire and life safety hazards and performs necessary corrective action.
- Maintains necessary operational records and reports for Security Officer Staff including but not limited to maintaining the GRHC registered employee vehicle database (including citation issued).
- Completes regular safety inspections to determine hazards, confirm room vacancy, and identify any suspicious individuals.
- Conducts security debriefings, collect and revoke badges, and cancel all visit clearance requests.
- Responds quickly to all emergency situations and notifies law enforcement when appropriate.
- Assists with personnel assignments to special details and provides coordination and technical assistance as required.
- Monitors, informs, and reports on departmental budget.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3 years previous Security experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity required.
- Current and valid State of Arizona driver’s license.
- Current and valid International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) basic and advanced certification or ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of hire.
- Current and valid Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures.
- AZ Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card within 60 days of hire.
