The Training Supervisor develops and administers the Department's Client Training Programs, i.e. Career Pathways Employer Programs, Work Readiness, Life Skills, and GED. Pathways Programs are developed with significant employer input and other Training Programs provide the soft skills needed to be successful as clients enter Pathways Programs or gain unsubsidized employment through individualized job development. The position analyzes and develops appropriate curriculum for all training programs, working with a team of Training Specialists and Pathways Outreach staff. The Training Supervisor provides supervisory oversight of all Department Training Programs under general supervision from the Director of Employment & Training
· Conduct periodic evaluation/assessments of curriculum and training materials to determine effectiveness and efficiency and ensure program objectives are met.
· Confer with staff in developing, applying and appraising new concepts and techniques in problem areas.
· Research best practices, relevant publications, and other training materials that will enhance the training program(s).
· Develops Career Pathways cohorts with Sector Employers, i.e., Hospitality, Medical, Fire, Entrepreneurship.
· Meets with employment partners, Tribal Departments, Community Colleges and Universities to design programs.
· Establishes training requirements and academic level needed to be successful in employer designed programs.
· Develops the Department's client training programs on life skills, work readiness and GED.
· Works with the Training Specialists to determine topics and training emphasis, as needed by clients.
· Conducts in person and virtual trainings as needed with internal and external clients upon request.
· Create, review and edit training videos for content. Utilizes Edit Box for filming staff in the creation of videos.
· Works directly with staff and maintains communication with the Training and Outreach staff to be familiar with their assigned program activities and progress.
· Develops workshop evaluations to get feedback from clients to improve training and address any concerns.
· Provides verbal Training Progress Reports at Department monthly and weekly Management Meetings
· Provides written training reports for Monthly, Semi-Annual and Annual Reports to Council and Standing Committees.
· Work with our Graphics department coordinating virtual services and products such as videotaping selected training areas.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Knowledge of principles, training methods and techniques used in the design, development, and implementation of effective curriculum.
· Knowledge of methods and procedures applicable to GRIC procurement practices.
· Knowledge and skill in use of computers and intermediate to advanced skills in Micro Soft.
· Office Knowledge in the use of virtual meeting formats i.e. WebEx, Zoom and other virtual meeting formats.
· Skill and ability to conduct research, analysis, program design and evaluation necessary to present and promote projects.
· Ability to coordinate activities with multiple parties.
· Ability to work independently; prioritize work and meet deadlines.
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, employers, schools, Community Officials and the general public.
· Ability to analyze and write curriculum for all training programs.
· Knowledge of Career Pathways concepts and WIOA Regulations.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Organizational Development, or related field and three (3) years related job experience to include training/curriculum development, and which includes one (1) year supervisory experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Required to a pass background check.
· Required to obtain a Tribal Operator’s permit. Valid state driver’s license with a current proof of driving record for the past 39 months will be required to qualify for a tribal driving permit. Proof of driving record must be submitted with application and must not be more than 60 days old from the date of submission of the application.
