Corporate Accountant

Gilbane is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support senior level accountants and managers with administrative, bookkeeping, clerical, and other responsibilities of the accounting department that include, but are not limited to, preparing & recording entries, completing account analysis as part of the preparation of account reconciliations, and completing assigned tasks to meet the department's financial reporting deadlines. This role will sit primarily in the office.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for general ledger account analysis and reconciliation using accounting software and systems, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
• Prepare and record general ledger entries as needed
• Compile and distribute monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages to internal Gilbane management
• Generate internal invoices to be sent to subsidiaries and other related parties
• Communicate with business partners and different departments in the organization to resolve and clarify issues related to accounting policies and procedures
• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related Degree
• 1 years relevant experience
• Or equivalent or combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Strong math and data-entry skills
• Basic knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and Access
• Knowledge of general accounting principles and standards
• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.    

For Providence, RI this ranges from $55,000.00 - $88,600.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
