The Public Works Data Strategist reports to the Assistant Public Works Director. The primary duties of this position include:
- Establish, administer, and manage data and processes related to specific applications including workflow, troubleshooting, user maintenance, and vendor liaison.
- Analyze and manipulate data sets to provide visualization and insight of Public Works-related data to the division/department/organization as needed.
- Complete data analysis for Public Works related functions as requested.
- Effectively communicate conclusions and recommendations based on data analysis findings.
- Mentor other members of the Public Works Team on how to articulate and use data.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to existing processes, configurations, documentation, and reporting.

About You

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Information Systems and 3 years of data or business analytics experience. However, a non-technical degree can be acceptable if complemented with the appropriate certifications and/or experience.
- 3 years of application administration and configuration.
- 5 years of application support with database experience.
- 5 years of business process analysis and project management.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, especially Excel and Power BI.
- Must have at least three years of experience with SQL queries, extracting meaningful data from SQL databases, and the ability to use industry-standard reporting tools like Crystal Reports. (SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
