Job Description: An Optician / Sales Associate that is a vision care professional that helps patients be properly fitted with eyeglasses, after obtaining prescriptions from Optometrists and/or Ophthalmologists. Opticians also assist customers to decide which eyeglass frames to purchase to best fit their face shape and prescription.

Knowledge and Responsibilities:
- Personally assist customers by giving prompt, courteous and professional service.
- Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
- Accurately complete all required paperwork.
- Accurately measure and order customer spectacles.
- Handle customer questions and concerns in a profession and courteous manner.
- Follow proper procedures when accepting payments.
- Accurately collect and post monies for customers.
- Share store maintenance and cleaning duties with co-workers by maintaining well organized work areas, greeting customers, answering telephones, inputting data, dusting merchandise displays and vacuuming.
- Maintain and continually develop professional dispensing skills and knowledge.
- Maintain good working relationships with other employees, customers and vendors.
- Encouraged to participate in the Optician Apprenticeship program if not already licensed.
- Protect all company assets including inventory, cash, credit card drafts, bank deposits and equipment.
- Project a positive attitude toward all company objectives and directives.
- Demonstrate teamwork at all times, including attendance at staff meetings and other training or company functions as required.
- Demonstrate dedication to honest and ethical business practices at all times.

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday (8 hours): typical start time is 8:30 a.m. & typical end time is 5:00 p.m.
- Every other Saturday (10:00 am – 2:00 pm)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Proven work experience as an Optical sales associate, retail sales representative or similar role: 1 year (required).
- Must present in a fashionable and professional appearance.
