Job Overview
As a Founding Engineer at Gild, you will take ownership across the stack - frontend, backend, and infrastructure. You will build solutions for customers quickly, iterate, build things for scale, and repeat. Think forward deployed engineer with more ownership and autonomy. We are working with some of the newest and most interesting AI infra, from voice and vision models, to transcription and generative content. We apply these solutions across various stakeholders like trade schools, national contractors, and job-seekers to automate workflows and make the impossible, possible. This role will spearhead all things AI development from refining and improving on existing components and building in house solutions from the ground up. Product velocity is at the core of everything we do.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who truly thrives in ambiguity, embraces high levels of agency and autonomy, demonstrates world-class technical expertise, and yearns for an entrepreneurial environment.
The ideal candidate is NOT this :
- A Perfectionist. Tendency to overdesign something and to spend 4 weeks building the perfect implementation versus 1 week building the thing that "just works" for 95% of the time."
- Someone who lacks urgency. If you are used to, and enjoy, a company setting where it is okay for a project to take a few extra weeks, this role is not for you.
- Someone who dislikes seeing things through, end to end.
