The opportunity:
Transportation Clerk is responsible for calling customer to make sure delivery shipments are being processed. Communicate with Transportation Broker for carrier and equipment. Perform data entry as required. Prepare and send daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to status of appointments by customer and carrier. Communicate with Broker and Customer to address, reset appointments. This position is based in the Sales Marketing and Distribution Team.
The role
- Monitor and maintain data in Transportation Insights TMS system
- Schedule all outbound shipment pickups (TL and LTL)
- Set delivery appointments with customers
- Monitor any interruptions and works to recover carriers/equipment quickly
The requirement
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in Logistics
- Limited travel
- Communication skills both written and oral
- Organizational skills
- Computer skills
- Warehouse and transportation experience
- Decision making based on knowledge and understanding
- Time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to work in a high-paced and at times, stressful situations
- Hearing required for instructions, safety warnings, and from various sources
- Vision required to read instructions, interpret data and formulate metrics
