The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating infection control practices within the skilled nursing facility. The RN will ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors by minimizing the risk of infectious disease transmission through rigorous infection prevention and control measures. This role involves educating and training staff, monitoring infection data, and staying updated with relevant regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities :
Infection Control Program Management :
- Develop, implement, and maintain the facility's infection control program.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local infection control regulations.
- Conduct regular infection control audits and risk assessments.

Qualifications : Education :
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ASN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
Experience :
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility.
Previous experience in infection control or public health is highly desirable.
Licensure / Certification :
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington DC.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
