Customer Service/Material Management

Job Description Job Description Perform semi-routine duties in a fast paced environment where judgment is required when communicating with customers, sales representatives, vendors and inter-company personnel. Working under defined procedures, this position processes orders, receives requests for quotations, product information, and orders from customers and coordinates with other departments, suppliers, and trucking companies in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers. Verifies freight bills, and follows up if there is a discrepancy. Performs all duties related to maintaining inventories, processing orders, arranging and tracking freight, invoicing customers and authorizing related invoices for payment. Maintains customer information through computer data entry and files.

• Receive verbal and written requests for product, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers.
• Develop and maintain rapport with customers to provide the best possible service.
• Develop and maintain rapport with suppliers
• Work with Business management and sales personnel to help manage the day to day output of our supply partners
• Enter, change and retrieve customer information, product availability and scheduling information, status of purchase orders, etc. through the company’s various systems.
• Maintain spreadsheets and databases - entering customer orders and posting changes as needed.
• Ensure that correct codes are used when entering information.
• Process all necessary information from the initial order, scheduling product with the supplier, and delivery, to billing the customer. Assist in resolving payment issues.
• Coordinate logistics, suppliers and / or production schedulers to ensure that customer's delivery requirements are met.
• Prepare paperwork and process all necessary items for orders to be completed.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Travel : Occasional day and overnight travel may be required.Company Description Our company is a marketer for an industrial commodity chemical.
