Responsibilities: • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences in accordance with established curriculum. • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. • Utilize data to inform instruction and adapt curriculum. • Assist in review and revision of curriculum and collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment. • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program and seek appropriate assistance/support when necessary. • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures and report progress in accordance with school/district requirements. • Provide a positive and safe instructional environment in which students are encouraged to be respectful and actively engaged in the learning process. • Establish reasonable classroom rules and procedures which help to maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing (to include e-mail, websites, etc.), with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. • Plan and supervise assignments for all who come under his/her charge including student teachers, aides, and volunteers, and, in cooperation with supervisor, evaluate the performance of each. • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and colleagues and model professional behaviors including maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with students. • Assume responsibility for meeting his/her curricular and school student performance goals. • Participate in trainings and other in-service activities as required and attend staff meetings. • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, and collaborating. • Assist administration in implementing all policies and/or rules and regulations of the school and district governing student conduct. • Be available to students and parents/guardians outside of the normal instructional day, as necessary. • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. • All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree or higher. • NH certification in appropriate endorsement area(s) or Statement of Eligibility. • Possesses strong oral and written communication skills. • Able to work independently with little direct supervision and to work collaboratively as part of a team. • Demonstrates strong work ethic to achieve school/district goals. • Displays effective multi-tasking and time management skills. • Able to utilize all required and recommended Gilford School District instructional technology tools and applications. Pay: • Commensurate with experience and in alignment with collective bargaining agreement. Schedule/Expected Hours: • As defined in the agreement between Gilford School District and the Gilford Education Association. Generally, the job requires 40% sitting, 20% walking, and 40% standing. Sufficient stamina to be able to perform normal classroom duties and additional duties required. Work Location and Environment: • Classroom environment. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids.
