Position Overview:

As a Chapter Chef, you'll work on the culinary team at the University of South Dakota, preparing and serving meals for fraternity and sorority members. This role allows you to run your own kitchen, while also focusing on customer service and adapting menus to meet members' preferences. If you're passionate about good food, customer satisfaction, and managing a kitchen, we'd love to have you on our team.
Reports To: Campus Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure customer satisfaction through feedback implementation and follow-through on requests
- Collaborate with the Campus Manager to design and adjust menus
- Cook and serve hot, delicious meals
- Communicate regularly with supervisors to ensure client satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Manage kitchen inventory efficiently
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working with universities, fraternities, and sororities is a plus but not required
- Basic technology skills (smartphone apps, texting, and email)
- Strong customer service skills, including building rapport and paying attention to detail
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently
- Ability to cook meals that satisfy client preferences
- Prior experience in kitchen management and food ordering
- Previous experience in repeat customer service environments (e.g., country clubs)
- Professionalism in client relations
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years of high-volume culinary experience
- Adherence to safety practices and sanitation standards
- ServSafe certified or willing to become certified
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with calm and poise
- Knowledge of food ordering and inventory management
- Reliable transportation to commute to the University of South Dakota
