POSITION: Groundskeeper / Maintenance Worker
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager/Director of Business-Operations
WORK HOURS: Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:00pm
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities include the maintenance, repair, and up-keep of pool and pool locker rooms and grounds at all school sites. Some maintenance work will also be required as assigned. During winter months maintenance work shall be a primary responsibility.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
1.)Maintain grounds in a professional manner at all District buildings to include mowing grass using available mowers, clearing weeds and trimming around all buildings, curbs, islands, shrubs, trees, fences etc. Pruning trees of dead branches
2.)Clearing debris, trash, sand, water, graffiti from school grounds. Use of blower to clear debris from walkways, sidewalks, driveways, athletic fields. Use dump truck to remove debris from school grounds, or to appropriate area on grounds for future use. Empty all refuse containers around each building.
3.)Grade, rake, finish all fields for Athletic Dept. at TFHS/GFMS and other areas as necessary. This will include lining fields for play, lining parking lots and play areas using various spray machines.
4.)Responsible for maintenance of all grounds equipment including, but not limited to: dump truck, mowers, tractors, groomer, weed whackers, chain saws, line sprayer, trimmers, or other grounds related equipment including hand tools.
5.)Snow removal throughout the winter months. Grounds person will maintain oversite of all snow removal, and sanding, salting, as well as supervise other designated snow removal personnel during major/minor storms. This person should maintain constant watch over local weather conditions, and calculate best way to provide necessary coverage to maintain safe conditions throughout all district buildings.
6.)Oversee Irrigation system at TFHS/MS to allow for clear, concise control of watering system for grounds and athletic purposes. This should include minor repairs, such as replacement of sprinkler heads, valves, and or electrical controls. Oversite or programming, and start up and shut off of every sprinkler in the fields. Problems with irrigation system should be reported immediately to the Facilities Manager should outside vendors be needed.
7.)And oversee pool area in total. This would include bathrooms, locker rooms, offices, pool room and connecting hallways. Pool mechanicals are to be maintained, and appropriate levels for heathy, clean and sanitary water for swimming to be maintained.
8.)Beautification plan to be drawn up, and implemented, funding permitted, for each building throughout the district. Plans should be completed by August of each fiscal year, and implemented when best time of year for planting/restoration/repair.
9.)Keeps inventory of supplies, reorders or notifies of need to order as appropriate.
