What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Line Lead position at Gilmer Warehouse & Logistics?
Position Summary:
Responsible for ensuring an acceptable finished product for our customer. Responsible for overseeing of the production line leaders and floor operates in a productive manner. Responsible for directing and training all floor members in the production processes, safety and GMPs.
Essential Functions:
· Works in conjunction with the Quality Department for positive production results.
· Knowledge of the rates of the jobs running on the production line.
· Responsible for work packets being filled out both correctly and accurately.
· Performs all computer functions as they pertain to this job.
· Maintains a safe work environment.
· Able to perform Shift Manager duties if absent.
· Production Shift Lead: Inspection of the production lines as needed if the job is complex or critical in its design or use. Assists Line Leads in training Line Workers. Responsible for training production staff.
· Receiving Shift Lead: Collaborates with inventory team and production team on production requirements. Inspects products coming into the warehouse, responsible for locating product in correct lane. Assists shipping department. Yard management and makes sure all trailers are properly locked up.
· Shipping Shift Lead: Collaborates with inventory team and production team. Moves finished products to the dock. Responsible for shipments to be out in 2 hours. Trains staff. Yard management and make sure all trailers are properly locked up.
Requirements:
· Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
· High School Diploma/GED and/or one or more years of experience in warehouse production preferred.
· Understands quality standards, methods, and reporting as required.
· Good communicator, team player and multi-tasking skills.
· Plans in advance for production in your area.
· Interprets instructions both oral and written in English.
· Produces at a high level through your staff.
· Works with plant management for required results.
· Processes information and merchandise through a computer system.
· Knows WMS systems, Microsoft Office, and OpenDoc.
· Must have physical dexterity of hands and fingers.
· Provides client-focused customer service to truck drivers.
· The associate must know and follow proper office and GMP safety protocols; know and follow Company’s grooming, hygiene and dress code policies including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.
Work Environment:
· The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
· The job will occasionally require lifting / carrying / push / pull up to 50 lbs. and work in all weather conditions.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
· This job will require work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
· This job may require extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed, to meet customer requirements.
· This job requires standing or walking for long periods of time and performing tasks at heights.
