To thrive as a Full-Time Survey Technician at Gilmore and Associates, you'll need a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is essential, along with survey or design drafting experience, particularly in Civil 3D, with field experience being a plus.
Your daily duties will require you to prepare boundary, topographic, and as-built survey plans, so familiarity with creating surfaces and producing elevation contours is crucial. The role demands exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, coupled with a proactive approach to responsibilities. Strong oral and written communication abilities are important for composing reports and interacting with professionals and public officials.
Additionally, you should demonstrate ethical behavior and honesty while working independently or as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and AutoCAD is essential, along with an understanding of land surveying principles and the ability to manage field data effectively.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Prepare boundary, topographic, as-built and other types of survey plans
- Create surfaces and produce elevation contours for topographic surveys
- Prepare metes and bounds descriptions, description exhibits, as-built record drawings, etc.
- Report pertinent progress information to Surveying Services Manager
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent Survey or Design drafting experience in Civil 3d, field experience a plus
Desired Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting and Design Technology
